It is my very sad duty to
inform you of the passing away of Peter Masson, for many years the Scottish
Team Captain. Peter was very proud to play and Captain his Country and was
a credit to the Sport of Darts.
The
funeral will be at St Helens Crematorium, Rainford Rd, St Helens WA10 6DF at
1pm on Friday 9th July.

I am very
sad to hear that Mick Getty passed away early yesterday morning after a long
illness. Mick was 65 and had worked for the British Darts Organisation for
over 25 years, he was BICC Group Director for Scotland before taking over
the Premier Division. Mick was a 'straight talker' and ruffled a few
feathers at times but always had the best interests of the Sport he loved at
heart. On behalf of the Scottish Darts Association I would like to pass on
our condolences to Sue and family.

Scottish play-offs for BDO 18-25 Young Player Challenge will take place in
Bannockburn Club, on Saturday 5th June 2010, as this date is before BDO
closing date Scottish Youth have produced their own entry form ( with the
BDO's kind permission ) attached here.

As can be seen in
details above the Men's Singles will be played over 2 days, Friday 19th and
Saturday 20th February. The Scottish Darts Association's Board of Directors
did not take this decision lightly but with the best interests of ALL players and
officials in mind. Everyone will agree that the venue for the Men's Singles
on the Saturday was very congested. We tried using two sessions a couple of
years ago and this resulted in a big improvement but did not solve the
whole problem. This years Men's Singles will be played in four sessions
with each game increased from best of 5 legs to the best of 7 legs.

It
is with great sadness that I have to announce the untimely death of Della
Fleetwood, WDF Treasurer. Della was a good friend to Cath
and myself and I will miss our " lively
discussions" at WDF Meetings. Della's passion for the Sport of Darts
matched my own and she will be sorely missed.
